Growing up in Pennsylvania, early autumn was always my favorite time of year, but as the days shortened and the brilliant leaves turned brown and dropped from the trees, I always felt a little mournful for the passing season of the sun.
Here in Southern California, my favorite time of year is now.
Though the days are shorter and the nights are sometimes crisp, we often enjoy beautiful, warm clear days like this one.
The beaches are less crowded, and there’s a sense of deep gratitude for the warm rays on our skin, the sparkle on the surface of the sea and time together with the family.
What are you grateful for at this time of year?
